Patrick grew up in Toms River, New Jersey and graduated from Toms River High School East in 2016. Patrick was a 4-year varsity starter for the Ice Hockey team, ending his career as a Mayor's Cup Trophy winner. Patrick went on to continue his Hockey career playing 2 years of Junior’s Hockey in Lewiston, Maine. Following his short stint in Maine, Patrick decided to continue his education to become a Sports Cameramen at Niagara University where he was also a part of the club Hockey team.

Patrick was described as a “Perfect teammate” which fell true on and off the Ice. He was the team’s protector, tough as nails but was titled a “Larger-Than-Life Teddy Bear” by his peers in an article on People.com. Patty was always there to pick you up when you were down and always had your back, he was the life of the party. He mingled with anyone and everyone looking to make people laugh. Patrick would spend time volunteering to teach disabled children how to ice skate, he was always looking to help, he had the most genuine heart.

The Patrick Romano Jr Memorial Scholarship Fund is a New Jersey Non-Profit Corporation (501(C), formed in memory and Honor of Patrick Romano Jr. who passed on March 27th, 2021, in a tragic house fire. Patrick was far too young and full life. The foundation has begun selling “ONE 9” Merch to help raise money for the foundation to give back to the community and school scholarships for Toms River East and Niagara University students. Patrick’s friends and family came together to carry on his legacy through this foundation. Our way of keeping Patrick in our day to day lives while giving back to the community. We will accomplish our mission by partnering with entities that provide value to those looking for an extra hand. We’d also like to give a shoutout to Patrick's mother, Charlene.
